Description

From the slopes of Mount Oldeani in northern Tanzania comes this exceptional coffee from Leon's Acacia Hills farm. Established in 2007, the farm borders the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where elephants and buffalo roam freely among the coffee trees.

Leon, a third-generation coffee farmer whose Greek grandparents settled in Tanzania in the early 1900s, transformed a rundown plantation into one of Tanzania's premier specialty coffee producers. Working alongside his partner Mark Stell, they've cultivated premium varieties including Kent, SL28, Geisha, and Pacamara at optimal altitudes for quality.

The farm's success extends beyond coffee production. Leon's commitment to community development includes installing water infrastructure that serves the entire Oldeani village, transforming lives by providing clean water access where people once walked four kilometers to collect it.

Through the innovative "Cupping at the Crater" events, Acacia Hills helped establish Tanzania's presence in the global specialty coffee market, eventually leading to official ACE auctions that showcase the region's potential.

This coffee represents sustainable farming practices where environmental stewardship and community welfare go hand in hand.
