SCA - Barista Skills Foundation (English)
The Barista Skills Foundation course is designed for those who wish to progress their skill set and demonstrate an understanding of the basic practical skills required by a barista. The participants will learn to set-up and operate a professional espresso machine. In particular, they will learn how to identify the main groups of the espresso machine and understand their function; understand how to adjust the grinder accurately; understand the concept of correct dosing and tamping; learn how to texture milk using a steam arm; learn how to pour basic latte art patterns.

How long is the SCA Barista Foundation course?
The course takes one full day, from 10:00 to 17:00.
Do I need prior experience to join this barista course?
No prior experience is required. The SCA Introduction to Coffee course is recommended but not mandatory.
Do I receive an SCA certificate?
There is an optional online written exam after the course. If you pass, you receive the official SCA Foundation Barista Skills certificate. The exam fee (€50) is paid separately to the SCA.
What is included in the course price?
Coffee, use of all professional equipment and facilities, plus a light lunch are included.
